Overview
I redesigned the homepage for the global media company "The Beat Asia Group" which has a base in Hong Kong. The objective was to produce a easy-to-use website that effectively highlights the business's offerings, channels and content while attracting in reader revisiting.

I worked with the marketing, development, and graphic design teams. I begin by creating prototypes and wireframes. Collaborating with others to comprehend their needs.
Target Audience
International-Young Professionals and Local Residents
The Beat Asia content focuses on lifestyle, events, and cultural happenings , particularly those living or working in Hong Kong.
Problems Identified
Cluttered Layout
Issue: A visually cluttered page overwhelms users, making it difficult to focus on essential content and calls to action.
Impact: Reduces engagement and may lead to users leaving the site prematurely.
Poor Navigation
Issue: Complicated or unclear navigation hinders users from finding necessary information.
Impact: Increases confusion and bounce rates, negatively affecting user retention.
Non-Optimized Design
Issue: The previous design failed to optimize desktop page size and lacked engaging micro-interactions.
Impact: Reduced user engagement as content was difficult to navigate, especially with feature articles displayed consecutively.

Solution
Enhanced Homepage Architecture
Added clear sectioning with distinct headings for improved content discovery
Developed an intuitive visual hierarchy to guide users through content
Created responsive layouts adapting to various screen sizes and devices
Integrated "This Week's Events" to show the product listing of clients
Interactive Features
Added hover states on featured articles revealing additional content
Implemented micro-interactions to improve user engagement
Channel Organization
Developed a multi-channel quick-access system
Implemented visual indicators for different content categories
4. Monetization Optimization
Redesigned advertising spaces for better visibility
Integrated non-intrusive ad placements
Optimized ad viewability while maintaining user experience. This new section introduces various channels and allows users to quickly view the ones that interest them.
Positive customer feedback was received for the redesigned website, and the client observed improvements in newsletter signup rate and conversion rate. In the meantime, ongoing review helped in identifying flaws before development execution and prevented regressions.
Bounce rate reduction: -14% (1-Month Post-Launch) , Newsletter signups: +8%
